Bontoc, Mountain Province โ€” The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Cordillera Administrative Region Regional Director Nathaniel Lacambra has turned over a โ‚ฑ4.6-million check to Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., on June 18, 2024, in Barlig, Mountain Province.

This financial support is set to benefit 282 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries, 45 individual livelihood projects, and two organizations: the Maligcong Farmers and Irrigators Association and the Aliwes Irrigators’ Association, Inc.

Further, the said funding was granted in response to Mayor Tudlong’s request to DOLE-CAR.

In an interview, Mayor Tudlong expressed his gratitude to DOLE-CAR for their unwavering support and assistance to the municipality.

Tudlong further highlighted the impact of the funds on the local community and added that the support will not only provide immediate employment opportunities through the TUPAD program but also foster long-term economic stability via the livelihood projects.

“The โ‚ฑ4.6-million aid will create meaningful employment for our disadvantaged and displaced workers and ensure that they have the means to support their families,” Tudlong added.

Also, Mayor Tudlong presented a token of appreciation to RD Lacambra, expressing gratitude for the substantial support and collaboration between the municipality of Bontoc and DOLE-CAR.

The turnover was witnessed by Labor Employment Officer III Jenelyn Caluza and Assistant Municipal Treasurer Mellicynth Yodong.
