Bontoc, Mountain Province โ€“ A total of 397 traffic violations were recorded by the Bontoc Municipal Police Station (MPS) from February 19 to April 21, 2025, prompting renewed calls for road discipline and responsible conduct among motorists and pedestrians.

For the said period, the Bontoc MPS collected โ‚ฑ286,000 in fines as a result of intensified monitoring and enforcement.

According to PCPT Robert Sagandoy, Officer-In-Charge of the Bontoc MPS, the most common violations involved the absence of an official receipt or certificate of registration (OR/CR) and prohibited parking, each accounting for 203 cases.

Other violations included failure to wear a helmet (89), obstruction of the roadway (32), unattended parking (17), and driving without a license (15). Lesser but concerning offenses were also documented, such as modified mufflers (12), lack of vehicle plates (14), and the use of slippers while driving (๐Ÿ˜Ž. There were also instances of improper attire (4), absence of franchise (1), and jaywalking (2).

Outside traffic-related offenses, the Bontoc MPS also logged two violations of special laws and seven cases under other non-index crimes. Notably, no index crimes or quasi-offenses occurred during the same period.

With this, the Bontoc MPS is reiterating its call to the public to actively cooperate in maintaining peace and order throughout the municipality and emphasized that adherence to laws and regulations is essential for the safety and well-being of all.
