Bontoc, Mountain Province โ The Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU), through its Program On Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Committee, recently awarded outstanding public servants for their honesty and dedication to public service.
Among those recognized was Ms. Flordeliza Peleo, from the Office of the Municipal Mayor, for her remarkable display of integrity.
On October 9, 2024, Ms. Peleo found a significant sum of cash at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol Grounds and, without hesitation, turned it over to the Bontoc Municipal Police Station (MPS), ensuring its rightful return to the owner. This commendable act not only reflects her honesty but also serves as a reminder of the principles that public servants must uphold.
Following the public advisory, the owner, Tocucan Punong Barangay Mariano Wayyas, claimed the cash at the Bontoc MPS earlier today, October 14, 2024.
Further, Ms. Venous Faith Cofulan was recognized for her outstanding achievement as the 2023 Regional Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Action Officer. Her leadership in implementing effective nutrition strategies earned her the prestigious regional award and further solidified her role as a key figure in advancing public health initiatives.
Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., commended the employees for their outstanding service.

The mayor further added that this is the start of giving due recognition to employees, emphasizing that these recognitions reflect the Bontoc LGU’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and integrity among its personnel.
The certificates of recognition and tokens of appreciation were presented by Mayor Tudlong and Human Resource Management Officer (HRMO) Arleen Eickmee Gasmeรฑa during this morning’s Flag Raising Ceremony at the Municipal Capitol.
